Summer Application Institute

The Summer Application Institute serve as a catalyst for change. Nearly five hundred students have completed the program so far, and have either graduate from college or are currently in college. Alumni are in graduate school, law school, and medical school; they are teachers, civil servants, Peace Corps volunteers, and mentors.

The Summer Application Institute continues to grow. This year we celebrated our 10th Anniversary and launched the second site in partnership with Sonoma State University where we served 31 students from Marin and Sonoma counties. We are embarking on a growth plan.

Are you ready to go to college? To help you prepare for the college and financial aid application process, 10,000 Degrees offers a year long program – the Summer Application Institute. The program includes an intensive five day dormitory experience and a year long mentoring program.

Eligibility

  • Be entering your junior or senior year in Fall 2010
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Be first generation of your family to attend college in the US.

Application Requirements

  • No G.P.A. requirement
  • One page essay
  • Letter of recommendation from teacher or counselor
  • Current high school transcript

The application deadline has already passed. Current Sophomores and Juniors in high school will be able to apply beginning of 2010.
