Scholarships: Applications & Guidelines

Undergraduate Scholarship

Marin Education Fund provides undergraduate scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 per academic year to students with significant financial need who are enrolled in a minimum of 9 units per semester. The scholarship is renewable for up to six years for students who demonstrate academic progress.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be attending an accredited or state-approved school and enrolling in:

  • An undergraduate program leading to an associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree or teaching credential
  • At least one semester or two quarters during the academic year
  • A minimum of 9 units per term
  • Marin County residency
  • Demonstrate financial need

Application Deadline:

The deadline for the 2008-09 undergraduate scholarship has now passed.

 

Professional and Technical Training Scholarship

students enrolled in training programs working towards license or certification who demonstrate significant financial need. The scholarship ranges from $1000 to $5000 depending on the student’s enrollment status for the year. The scholarship helps to cover the cost of tuition, cost of living, and educational expenses such as books and equipment.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be attending a training program at an accredited or state-approved training institution pursuing a license or certificate and enrolled either part-time or full-time (as defined by the institution). Applicants are not eligible if they have already attained their bachelor’s degree.

Application Requirements:
  • Professional & Technical Training Scholarship Application. Applications will be available June 1, 2008 for the 2008-09 academic year.
Application Deadline:

Our next funding cycle begins July 1, 2008 for programs during the 2008-09 academic year. You may submit your application beginning July 1, 2008. Applications are accepted on a rolling deadline.

 

Child Care Scholarship

Marin Education Fund provides child care scholarships ranging from $500 to $9,000 per child for parents who are enrolled in college. The scholarship is renewable annually for provided that the parent maintains satisfactory progress.

Eligibility:
  • Marin County residency
  • The parent must be attending an accredited or state-approved school and enrolled in a minimum of 6 units
  • The parent must be working towards their first bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree, license or certificate
  • Children must be under the age of 11 and attending a licensed child care facility

We accept applications on a rolling deadline and recommend that the parent submits their application at least two months in advance of their start date.
