Requirements

• Marin or Sonoma County residency for at least one year prior to March 2, 2008.
• A graduating high school senior from a Marin or Sonoma County High School.
• Applicants must be enrolling in a full-time undergraduate academic program leading to a degree.
• Applicants must have one parent of Asian, South East Asian, Pacific Islander, or South Asian descent. Proof may be requested.
• Demonstrate strong academic achievement and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. 
• A clear and consistent history of one of the following:  1) volunteer work benefiting individuals, groups, non-profit organizations, or schools or 2) work necessitated by financial need. 
• A history of leadership in their personal, community, and/or academic life.

• Enrolled in an early childhood degree program intending to pursue a career with children zero to five-years old. Students may be attending a Bachelor’s degree program, Master’s degree program or community college courses related to early childhood education with plans of transferring to a four-year college to complete a bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 2.0 GPA while attending college.

• Since April 27, 2007, applicant, applicant’s parent(s), or grandparent(s) has been employed full or part–time for a minimum of 120 hours by one of the following six Marin County retirement facilities: Villa Marin, The Tamalpais, The Aldersly, The Redwoods, Drake Terrace, or Smith Ranch.
• Attend an interview with the scholarship committee in April/May if selected as a finalist.

• A graduating high school senior from Terra Linda or Marin Catholic High School.  Marin Catholic High school seniors must also be residents of San Rafael’s Terra Linda district.

• Minimum non-weighted high-school GPA of 3.0.
• Applicants must be enrolling in a full-time undergraduate academic program leading to a degree.

• Enrollment in one of the following Bay Area public universities: California State University, East Bay Campus; San Francisco State University; San Jose State University; Sonoma State University; or University of California at Berkeley
• Upper division student who has attended the school for one academic year or more, with 60 units or more, 30 of which were attained at the present university.
• Studying the social sciences, human services, public interest law, health-related fields, or public service
• A minimum 3.5 GPA either at the current school or at a combination of the current school plus all schools previously attended.  Consideration will be given to students with a GPA of 3.2 - 3.49.
• Must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 units each in the Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 semesters.
